The Complex Les Ailes (Downtown)

Although the Complex Les Ailes has been around for a short period it has featured prominently in the memory of all Montrealers because of its precious location. It was once the home of the now extinct Eaton’s, once the largest of all Canadian retail outlets that went bankrupt and was forced to sell its assets. The building itself was built in 1931 to house the department store giant and did not change owners until 1999. It housed the famous ninth floor restaurant, for years known as ''the 9th'', a piece of history from the Montreal’s days of art deco.
The Ailes de La Mode has completely renovated the building, breaking from tradition and bringing us an upscale modern interior that outshines all the others. Marble walls and a contemporary style escalator arrangement make shopping here an unforgettable experience. Although the old 9th floor restaurant has been restored, the memory of Eaton’s and its hold on this precious piece of real-estate is slowly disappearing into memory. The boutique spaces in the Complex des Ailes are elegant enough to warrant the attention of a more elite crowd of stores. Those shopping in this store should be prepared for a taste of class.

The Complexe Les Ailes offers a premier line-up of top retailers such as Forever XXI, Tommy Hilfiger, M0851, Lacoste, New Balance, SAQ signature and Swarovski along with a post office, a currency exchange office and a Jean Coutu drugstore. Along with the Montreal Eaton Centre and Place Montreal Trust, under the name of Shopping, Complexe Les Ailes offers tourists a gift with any purchase of 150$ or more.
